Ways to fight Headache Pain

There are many diseases that are linked to food we eat, and among them headache and diet is one that is very well recognized. Not only migraines, but various types of headaches seem to be triggered by foods, or lack of foods. Headache pain can be tolerated occasionally, but it is difficult to accept headache as the way of life. Even a minor headache affects the day-to-day activities, unable to do anything with proper concentration leads to the cause of recurring tension.

Tension headaches pains are usually caused by the contracting of the layer of muscle around your skull, which in turn can decrease blood flow to your head. Every type of headache has a reason, hence it is necessary for to make the self-analysis and come to the root cause of your headache pain.

By keeping the history of headache pain writing down the details of your headaches like how long the pain last, how severe the pain was, what is  happening before the pain started and how you sought relief helps you and your physician to identify your headache pain.

Sometimes it can be stress, menstrual cycles, bright light, perfumes and even changes in the weather. So make a clear idea about what could be reason for headache pain. Then you can try to avoid at least some of the triggers.

Foods may bring on headaches. Only 20 percent to 30 percent of people can consistently identify the foods that trigger their headaches.  Foods that contain sodium nitrite, and foods that contain the seasoning monosodium glutamate, or MSG may cause headache pain.

Try to have enough magnesium that relaxes blood vessels and reduces the likelihood that migraine-inducing electric signals in the brain will be generated, both of which can cut your chances of getting a headache. Magnesium-rich foods include leafy green vegetables and nuts.

Make sure you eat a healthy regular meals. Never skip meals since the brain runs on two things: oxygen and sugar converted from the food you eat. Once that sugar is gone, you need to feed your brain and when you wake up with morning headache arises. Alcohol can be headache triggers. Tobacco and second-hand smoke, which you shouldn’t be messing around with anyway, headaches or not.

Have a strict sleeping schedules even on the weekends which helps to avoid headache pain. Try to go to bed and get up at the same time each and every day.

Try to manage stress with all kinds of techniques, from massage to yoga to biofeedback. Dealing with stress successfully sometimes means just giving yourself some time just by reading a book, go for a walk, even go shopping if that works for you.

Cold packs has a bit of a local anesthetic effect. Place a cold pack on your forehead reduces the headache pain.
